In 1988 3xM investigated into a Christian broadcasting system in Flanders. It proved that there were no possibilities for broadcastings. The partner organisation in Belgium took this matter against the Belgian government to court.
Amongst others through the allowance of Belgian government support to Protestant schools, the following proposal was made: when we should drop the legal action, they should create a possibility within the public national broadcasting system to broadcast Protestant programs on television and radio. The programs were placed within the public broadcasting system and to this day the Belgian government finances the programs. The Foundation ERTS (the Evangelical Radio and Television Foundation) have been founded in 1996. Since 1996 ERTS receives 75 minutes broadcasting time a year on television and 6 hours on radio.
ERTS was able to continue self-sustaining with the production of Christian television for Belgium.
Financing
Largely by the Belgian government and contributors in Belgium.
