3xM: Reaching More Countries with Christian TV

In 2009, it’s 3xM’s intention to expand the Christian TV programs in West Africa. 3xM aims to strengthen the position of Christian TV in Asian countries. In recent months, 3xM’s partner ministries have begun broadcasting in Asia, supporting one of 3xM’s primary goals of strengthening the position of Christian TV in this region.  These expansions are in line with 3xM’s strategy to focus on countries where Christians represent a minority of the population.

West Africa

Last year, Christian television programs were begun in Gabon, Niger and Benin. We also realized a landmark success when permanent Christian television broadcasts began in Senegal.  In 2008, negotiations started in Guinea-Conakry and the Central African Republic. At this time, the political situation is very unstable in both countries.  Nevertheless, 3xM hopes to initiate broadcasts in both countries.  In total, approximately 30 million West Africans are now able to view the program.

Asia and the Arabic Language Project

In 2008, for the first time, Christian broadcasts became available in Central Asia and Indonesia.  In Indonesia alone, 170 million potential viewers can be reached via television. By the end of 2008, Christian television broadcasts had resumed in the area encompassed by the Arab Language Project.  Additionally, 3xM’s partner in South Asia has made such improvement that it expects to produce its own programs this year. In 2009, 3xM will conduct research on another Asian country to determine the next start of Christian television in that region.

Turkey and Bulgaria

Thanks to the Internet more and more people can be reached with the Gospel. In Turkey and Bulgaria programs are able to be broadcast more often via the Internet.

For nearly 30 years, the mission organization 3xM has partnered with churches and Christian organizations in producing and broadcasting television programs.  The transference of knowledge is an important part of 3xM's mission.
