Explosive growth of responses on christian TV programme ‘Deadly Honey’
More and more responses are pouring in on the christian TV programme ‘Deadly Honey’ (Miel Mortel), which is also broadcasted in the Central African Republic. This reports the Dutch foundation 3xM which supports local partner organizations in Asia, West Africa and Eastern Europe by producing and broadcasting christian television.
The christian TV programme ‘Deadly Honey’, that focuses mainly on the youth, has received more than 3,300 responses in just three months time. On average 50 responses come in after a broadcast. In the programme the Biblical vision on the HIV/AIDS issue is portrayed. Based on the responses this appeals in a great manner to the youth. The 27 year old Zadi says that after watching ‘Deadly Honey’ he drastically changed his life style, when the danger of infection with HIV/AIDS was pointed out to him.
On this moment the programme is being aired 6 days a week (from Monday to Saturday) on the national station of CAR ‘TéléCentrafrique’ between 6.30 and 7 PM. This is possible because of the governmental campaign about HIV/AIDS.
Mission organization 3xM has already supported local Christians for 30 years in producing and broadcasting television programmes. The broadcasting, viewer follow-up and counselling by means of internet receive increasing attention. Passing on knowledge is an essential part of the mission. 3xM particularly aims at countries where few Christians live.
