Follow-up training in Mali

Follow-up training in Mali

Monday 30 January 2012 13:56

Mali is already a very poor country and the near future is even less bright for its inhabitants. The harvest failed because of the drought and millions of people are threatened by famine. People expect that each family will have to live from less than half of the daily necessities of life. The political situation and public security have also deteriorated. We have read about it in the newspaper here: armed raids and kidnappings in the northern part of the country.

Our partner brings the program ‘La Bonne Nouvelle’ (the Good News) in this context. It is a program that wants to offer hope and give people a new prospect through faith in Jesus Christ. We wrote in our December magazine that there has already been a training to make the program more accessible for a broad public. In February a follow-up training will be given to refine the new format. This week we ask you to pray for this training.

Program with a message

Hawa is a 30-year old energetic woman from Bamako, the capital city of Mali. She has a street trade and tries to watch ‘La Bonne Nouvelle’ as much as possible. “I love the programs because they have a message. I enjoyed watching a broadcast about community spirit very much. And, o yes, that program about justice. I learned that I must also radiate justice in my own place. I live on a yard with many Christians, many of them also watch your program. We often continue to talk about it.”

Will you please pray for:

A good preparation for the training both by the Dutch trainer as well as the team in Mali and that the program ‘La Bonne Nouvelle’ will be a source of hope and support for many people.

John 20:21-22

'Again Jesus said,
'Peace be with you! As the Father has sent me, I am sending you.' And with that he breathed on them and said: 'Receive the Holy Spirit'.
